Donna’s role at Taylors Ilfracombe office involves working as P.A. and Secretary to Greg Schofield and dealing with the firm’s clients on a day to day basis. She has 35 years work experience, moving from her home town of Birmingham to work in Athens and the Greek Islands for 15 years before moving to North Devon with her two daughters.
After years of legal administration and secretarial support working in areas of law including Marine, Probate, Wills & Family, she now assists in a variety of Civil and Commercial Litigation claims, money disputes and Personal Injury cases. She takes pride in providing the best possible personal service to clients that she would expect to receive herself.
Outside of work, Donna enjoys visiting local places of interest with her daughters and visiting family overseas.
Lis was admitted as a solicitor in 1979 and since then has always specialised in family law.
She deals with all aspects of family law including divorce and cohabitation, problems relating to financial matters and problems relating to children.
She tends to deal with higher net worth cases, including cases with an international element, and cases involving trusts and business assets. Lis loves her job but really enjoys finding solutions for her clients and seeing them through to the other side of what can be an unhappy and difficult time. She is always happy to negotiate and find a way through without recourse to the courts, but will fight cases whenever necessary. Your first meeting with Lis is without charge and during that meeting you and she can work out what you want to achieve and how best to go about doing so.
Lis is married to a barrister who also specialises in family law and in their free time they share a passion for cooking and for opera and being taken for walks by their cocker spaniel, George.
Pip is the Director of Taylors Solicitors. He is an experienced Solicitor who handles large and complex matters. He is thorough, well prepared, strong but flexible and has a calm, sympathetic and re-assuring manner. Clients describe him as totally supportive and an excellent lawyer.
Pip qualified in South Africa before completing the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) entitling him to practice as Solicitor in England & Wales.

Greg is an experienced Solicitor and manages the firm’s Ilfracombe office.
He has dealt with a wide variety of Civil and Commercial litigation matters, personal injury claims and civil disputes since starting work in the legal industry over 30 years ago.
Having spent 20 years working in North West England, he moved with his family to North Devon in 2003 which he describes as a “fantastic place to live and work”. He joined Taylors in 2010 and has since continued to undertake an increasing amount of property related litigation, including land and boundary disputes, landlord & tenant and building disputes.
Greg describes the best part of the job as meeting and dealing with people and managing to resolve difficult issues that affect their lives and finances. He retains a particular interest in personal injury claims having recovered an estimated £4 million in compensation over the years for his Clients.
Outside of work, Greg is an active member of the Ilfracombe community as former Chairman and President of Ilfracombe Round Table, he plays golf to an “average” standard and is a keen musician, having had his own band for 10 years.
Chartered Legal Executive
and Senior Conveyancer
Kate joined Taylors Solicitors in the spring of 1999 a few months after Philip Taylor had opened the branch of Furse Sanders and Taylor in Braunton.
She was already qualified as an associate of the Institute of Legal Executives and over the course of her first three years with the firm took the degree equivalent qualification to become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, now a body that has a royal charter and her qualification is therefore now as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
She has been involved in conveyancing for both public and private bodies since leaving school in 1969 and deals with commercial and residential properties. She has worked in London, Wiltshire, Norfolk and Yorkshire but settled in North Devon in 1989 and does not intend to leave!
Derek joined Taylors in 2014 as the practice's Legal Cashier. He gained his AAT qualifications in 1975 and qualified as a Legal Cashier in 1980.
Derek has worked in those roles for various legal practices and other businesses for almost 40 years.
Chartered Legal Executive
Cath joined Taylors solicitors in May 2002 and has been working alongside Kate Saunders ever since.
She started training in the 1980s and has worked in Bedfordshire, Yorkshire, London and overseas but relocated to North Devon in 1990s. She specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing and property transactions.
In her free time, family permitting, she likes reading, badminton and travel. She is also Treasurer on the Croyde Village Hall committee.
PA and Legal Secretary
Kathryn joined Taylors Solicitors in 2001 and having a break from 2006 – 2011 to have her children. She works for Chris Mullen in the conveyancing department on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
She brings a lot of experience from her time working in Leeds and Barnstaple working in various offices dealing with secretarial and accounts work.
She can help with any general enquiries that arise on the telephone or in person.
Nadia joined Taylors Solicitors in 2010 and works in the Probate department for Paul Paterson.
She brings conveyancing experience from her time working in London and Exeter and welcomes clients and visitors, books appointments and can help with any general enquiries that arise on the telephone or in person.
Karen has gained over twenty years experience in Commercial/Residential Conveyancing, working in Bristol for 15 years before relocating to North Devon. She brings a great deal of experience in Conveyancing and General Office Management.
She joined Taylors Solicitors in 2011 and works as personal assistant and legal secretary to Kate Saunders and Cath Plummer on all conveyancing matters. Karen deals with all the company's completions following exchange of contracts.
She also deals with accounting/staff matters within the office. Karen is able to help with most queries on conveyancing transactions and accounting queries.
Philip qualified as a solicitor in 1976. After working in Gloucestershire and London, he moved to North Devon in 1987 and worked for two local firms before setting up his own practice as Philip Taylor & Co in 1992. In 1996 he bought the firm of Furse Sanders in South Molton and then opened a branch office in Braunton in 1998. He practised as Furse Sanders & Taylor at both offices until he sold the South Molton office in 2006, when the Braunton office became the head office of Taylors Solicitors. The Ilfracombe office was opened in 2010, to add the benefit of expertise in Personal Injury and General Litigation and to serve clients in the Ilfracombe area.
Specialising in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Philip has also acquired considerable expertise in Wills, Trusts and Business matters.
Following his retirement and the acquisition of the firm by Pip Britton in 2014, Philip has been retained as a consultant advising on Commercial Conveyancing, Wills and Trusts.

Jayne is Lis’s PA. They have worked together since their respective now grown up children were babies and hope to do so for many years to come.
Jayne has over 30 years experience as a legal secretary and her experience is invaluable in providing secretarial support to Lis and calm help and assistance to Lis’s clients.
When she is not working, Jayne and her husband love to travel.
Roger Sceats is a senior solicitor, originally with an Oxford degree in modern history, who has specialised in administrative law and its workings in the National Health Service, notably the provision of pharmaceutical services by rural doctors and pharmacists throughout the country. He has conducted several judicial reviews against public bodies when decision making has gone wrong in England and Wales. But he also has a very wide experience of many sorts of litigation both in the county courts and the high court, acting for both businesses and individuals. Over his legal career, he has dealt with family, landlord and tenant, probate and many other areas of law. He is always careful to take a practical approach and is very conscious that clients should never spend more than they have to when a problem has to be solved.

Part-time receptionist &
Lindsey has worked as an Executive PA and Events Co-ordinator in commercial, corporate and charity
sectors in London and Buckinghamshire. Since moving to North Devon in 2016, Lindsey has kept busy by
volunteering for the Appledore Book Festival, doing agency assignments and ad hoc work for North Devon
Hospice and a building supplies company.
Lindsey works on reception Monday-Wednesday, and provides secretarial
cover during holidays and absences.
Private Client Solicitor
Laura is an experienced commercial and residential property solicitor specialising in all aspects of
commercial and residential conveyancing, landlord and tenant matters, portfolio management and insolvency related property transactions and security reviews.
Laura read Law and Criminology at Cardiff University and trained with a leading regional firm on the South
Coast before qualifying as a solicitor in 2009 into a busy Commercial Property team in Southampton.
Originally from North Devon, Laura moved back to the area in January 2017, joining Taylors shortly after.
Drawing from her extensive and varied experience whilst working on the South Coast, Laura can offer both
individual and corporate clients a professional and efficient service covering all aspects of Property Law.
Laura is happy to meet with clients at our Braunton or Ilfracombe offices and can also accommodate home and site visits. Laura's usual working days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Paul graduated with a first class honours law degree from a leading university before qualifying as a
solicitor in 2008 practising in will drafting, powers of attorney, trusts, probate and estate planning.
He has since gained a wealth of experience acting for clients from all backgrounds, including handling
complex estate administrations for one of the country's largest legal service providers, before joining Taylors
Paul is married with a young family and is able to comprehensively advise on and assist with wills and
other measures necessary to preserve and ensure hard earned assets are passed on for the benefit of family, friends and charities. Paul enjoys providing this service in a professional, yet friendly and
approachable manner and is always pleased to discuss your requirements initially without obligation, either

Chris is an experienced Conveyancer who joined Taylors Solicitors some two years ago. Chris specializes in both residential and commercial transactions and has experience of agricultural transactions.
Brought up in North and Mid-Devon Chris qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Legal Executives and
since then has over thirty five years of experience working in north and mid Devon in residential,
commercial and agricultural conveyancing.

I have lived in Braunton since April 2002 and have been with Taylors since January 2013. I previously worked with financial institutions and other firms of solicitors I work part time and enjoy working locally, being on reception and assisting with secretarial duties for staff holiday cover.
